O V E R V I E W: 6-Week Teacher Training Course This 6-week program is designed to equip piano teachers with the tools and knowledge needed to stay current in today’s evolving music education landscape. Teachers will learn how to select appropriate teaching methods for different student profiles, communicate effectively with parents, and build lesson policies that protect the teacher’s time while supporting strong student progress. The training course emphasizes professional confidence, student retention, and attracting students who fit the teacher’s studio values. The course is divided into three phases: Weeks 1–2: Teaching Methods & Curriculum Selection Understand the strengths and weaknesses of today’s method books, age-specific learning strategies, adult vs. child learning differences, and how to adapt curriculum to diverse learning styles and goals. Weeks 3–4: Communication & Teacher Etiquette Learn how to make an excellent impression, inspire confidence, navigate sensitive conversations, handle under-practicing students, establish practice culture at home, and foster healthy, positive parent-teacher and student-teacher partnerships. Weeks 5–6: Studio Policies, Business Structure & Classroom Management Build a sustainable studio policy, makeup lessons (or not!), understand tuition structures, attract ideal students, and maintain long-term commitment and enthusiasm.
